The best places to visit on a sunny day in Blackpool

It’s been a long dark couple of months. But now restrictions are easing, the sun’s peeking out from behind the clouds, it’s getting hotter, and we’re eager to soak up as many rays as we can. After being stuck inside for the better part of a year, who would want to stay inside? Not us.

All we’ve been thinking about for the past year is getting back to Blackpool and feeling the sun on our skin. So, seeing as the time for a holiday is just around the corner, we thought we’d remind you of all the brilliant outdoor activities Blackpool has to offer.

Stanley Park

With 390 acres of stunning green, there’s something for everyone. Beautiful nature, sports facilities, a park for the little ones, and a boating lake you can explore via pedalo or motorboat. Feeling the heat? Take some shelter in the cool shade of the bandstand. Maybe even snack on a few sandwiches before making your way down to the Italian gardens.

A visit to Stanley Park is the perfect way to spend a sunny afternoon as one of Blackpool’s most serene, but staple attractions. And did we mention it was voted the UK’s best park, not once, but twice?

North Blackpool Pond Trail

For those who want to take it up a notch and really explore Blackpool’s nature, the North Blackpool Pond Trail should be at the top of your list of places to visit. With a network of 21 ponds, a lake, a reedbed, a community orchard, meadow grasslands, and woodlands, the pond trail offers the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of Blackpool.

Here you’ll find various species of butterflies, newts, frogs, birds, and other tiny creatures. And when you’re feeling tired, you can have a quick pit stop at the picnic area, refuel, and continue exploring. Perfect.

Blackpool beach

If frogs, flowers, newts, trees, and bugs aren’t your scene, don’t worry, there are plenty of other ways to enjoy the sun. Like Blackpool’s beach, for example. I mean, what’s a holiday without a trip to the beach? The beach is perfect for those that just want to kick back in the sun. Or for the little ones who want to play and make sandcastles.

It’s also perfect for a little paddle when it gets a bit too hot. And just off the beach, you’ll find bars and fish and chip shops, so you’re never far away from your creature comforts.

A holiday in Blackpool is the perfect way to soak up the sun. There are so many outdoor places you can visit, whether you’re looking to relax or explore nature. And when you’ve finished for the day, you can come back and relax in your hotel…

Right in the centre of the action, The Royal Boston is just a stone’s throw away from Blackpool’s best bars and restaurants. Or if you’re looking for an easy evening after a long day of soaking up the sun, The Royal Boston is located on the seafront and has an on-site bar and restaurant.
